Yep, another subject that brings up some very strong arguments on either side. Some say they'll never travel without a spare, others question the need for such on a MH.
Carry a spare, and have several hundred $$ tied up in an additional tire attached to the bottom of your MH, rotting away, taking up payload, storage space, and chances are you may well never, ever need it. And if you ever DO need it, in many cases you will not be able to (or not want to) change it yourself, anyway, so you're STILL going to have to rely on a roadside service of some kind to change it for you.
Or...Save that $$ and space, and just rely on a roadside service to get you a new tire IF you ever have a tire failure on the road that requires a new tire.
A strong case can be made for either approach. I have chosen the latter option. We're just not on the road enough with the MH for this to be a concern - 4-5 weeks a year, maybe 5-8000 miles total each year. If we were full-timers or even part-timers that were on the road several months a year, it'd be a different story.
As to your specific question of how long it takes for a roadside service to locate a tire and get to you: Well, like already said, there's soooo many variables involved, its impossible to really answer that question. Could be as quick as 30 minutes, or could be days to get the right tire. Just depends on what kind of tires you have, where you are, when the failure happens (off hours or weekend), etc.
The one time I needed roadside service for a tire related issue, we were just outside Salisbury, NC. They (Wingfoot tire service) were there with a new tire of same size and brand I have, within an hour. Fortunately, it turned out we did not need the new tire, just a minor repair, but they were there with the new tire within an hour if I would have needed it.
