Let me tell you about the first ever camping trip I made in this class A I'm typing in.
We were headed west on M-14 north of Ann Arbor, MI and suddenly BRAKE LIGHTS.. the road was closed,,, Some idiot decided to park his sports car under a semi trailer....at 70 mph (Hey works in the movies). Fatal accident.
I am sitting there in the jam and several thoughts come to me.
1: If towing a trailer or driving a car sooner or later I'll need to visit "The little room" in teh class A it's about 15-20 feet back I don't even need to exit the vehicle.
2: Long enough I may get hungry or thirsty.. We had food for 2 weeks and 80 gallon of fresh water.
So what is the moral of all this.
How long to get the tire fixed? Who cares? I don't. Just get as far off as you can and put out the grass side slide and enjoy.. heck, if it takes all night.. That's the bed that's in the grass side slide.
Two things you should have in your motor home or, if you have one, it';s puppy (The little car that follows it everywhere it goes).
1: A set (or two) of DOT approved breakdown triangles
2: A copy of the commercial driver's license guide which contains the patterns for laying out those triangles or flares.
Or a print out of the proper chapter and verse of the federal DOT regulations which show the same thing.
I have had to stretch break down triangles. I think 4 times.. 3 accidents and one break down.. None involving myself except as witness in one case.
