How many miles on your Cat C7

Got almost 70K on mine, 9 years old.
  • 58,000 on my 2007 MH with a 2006 C7. Did the valve lash at 55,000 and none of them needed adjustment.
  • 28,xxx, no issues.

    Valve lash not checked yet.

    Dash air is awesome !!!!!
  • I have 51K on mine. I had the HEUI pump go which required changing the injectors because of the metal shavings the pump put out. Expensive but covered by my extended maintenance contract.

Did everybody lash their valves and did it make any difference?

Did my 3126B last fall at 140,000 miles and not really. But it was worth the trip to the CAT shop. I had them do a fluid and filter change and a chassis lube while they had it there and the tech found a bunch of suspension issues. Had those fixed over last winter.

They even threw in a new coat of CAT yellow in the valve cover.

  • In a 2005 Fleetwood Excursion, 62,000 miles and doing fine.

  • Not a C-7 but a 3126B. Just turned 86,000 and the only problem I have every had was the pre heater for the engine sensor went out at 36,000 miles
Just did a 2,000 mile trip and averaged 8.5 mpg. towing a 2003 Honda CRV.
Lots of power for my needs. 2000 Harney
