The F40/MB400 (two different designations for the same incomplete/cut-away chassis) had at least two options for front axle. One was the same as the B100/200/300 front axle. (Which I believe is a 3000# axle.) The other option was a heavier duty 4000# front axle. Moog site says different part number for drag link on 4000# axle option.
(I don't see any reason for offering a 5000# front axle on a MB400 but I wouldn't be surprised to find one on a specially built truck.)
