I spent the afternoon getting my vacuum lines squared away. After determining that the Vacuum Amplifier was only used for EGR purposes, I took it off and set it on the parts shelf. Using "A Carter Thermo-Quad Guide" vacuum schematic, I connected the Distributor, Carb Purge, PCV, Choke Pull-Off & Air Cleaner Heater ports. I need to get some 11/32" vacuum line, in order to connect the Carb Bowl Vent to the Charcoal Canister.
One question I do have is this: I know what purpose a Vacuum Reservoir serves, but do I need it? The whole reason this project started was because of a vacuum leak which, as it turns out, was the bottom nipple on the reservoir not being connected to anything. I know that the top, larger nipple connects to manifold vacuum, but to what does the smaller nipple connect?
Here's a pic of my reservoir for reference.
