Since I’m waiting for my monthly budget to kick in, I decide to tackle a free project, windshield wiper motor repair.

I reversed the disassembly process, reinstalled the motor and re-connected the wiper linkage. My wipers now work as they did in 1975. Sorry, no pics of the work.
Nice. Windshield wipers, just another item we tend to forget and neglect.
When I inherited mine, they didn't work at all. All of the bushings for the linkage were gone. Not shot, but completely missing.
Luckily, with a little knowledge I was able to fix them for under $10 by ordering new bushings, cleaning everything up, lubing the joints, and pressing together the linkage and transmission to the wiper arms and motor. I then added new wiper blades, but they are about n inch too long. So much for following mfg specs. I'll replace them next time with an inch shorter than they call for (I don't remember the sizes off the top of my head).
