How Many Solar Panels Needed

We have a 30' class A and we are definitely energy consumers with the (2) TVs as well as the satellite receiver, CPAP, sewing machine, Vita Mix blender, etc.

I'm putting in (6) 6volt batteries which hold about 600 AMP hours total. (EDITED AND CORRECTED) Thank you Dakota98

That being the case how many watts of solar panels are needed?

I'm looking at 300 watt panels 77" x 38" that will fit on my roof. Do I need 3 or 4 of them?

I've already have my 2000 watt pure sine inverter and the TriStar TS-MPPT-45 controller

Thanks

  • You should be able to find a "solar calculator" type of website online if you google it that will have you punch in how many hours you will have any particular appliance, etc, on for each day, and how much power each appliance consumes. The calculator then will tell you how many watts of panels you will require.
  • Not sure what 6 volt batteries you are installing, but I'm thinking you're around 600
    AMP hours, not 1200.

Two 6 volt batteries, each rated at 210 AMP, connected in series is still 210 AMP.
