Hydraulic Fluid for HWH Levelers

My owner's manual calls for "Special HWH Hydraulic Oil" for my level jacks. Is there a equivalent hydraulic oil that is available at auto stores? I went to O'Rilley's auto parts and there were three different types (32,46 and something else - can't remember), plus hydraulic jack oil. Are any of these three the same as the HWH Oil?

Owner's manual also stipulates that Dextron III can be substituted "if necessary".

Would rather have hydraulic oil than transmission fluid if at all possible.

thanks

Ron

  • Why not stick with the recommended oil HWH recommends instead of using something different with possible problems?

  • HWH Hydraulic Oil is the equivalent of Dexron III without the red dye, hence better in case you end up with a leak inside the coach somewhere.
