hydraulic fluid reservoir for leveling system

While driving, I sometimes get a warning beeping sound from the control panel for the hydraulic leveling system, which according to the manual indicates a low level of hydraulic fluid. When we retracted our jacks at the last campground on this trip, I noticed a small amount of hydraulic fluid on the wood pad for the right rear level jack. We have a 2011 Bounder Classic 36R. I have contacted Fleetwood and they sent me the schematics and drawings which indicated the reservoir if right behind the right front leveling jack and showed detailed drawing of pump and reservoir. However, to no avail, I cannot locate the reservoir or pump that matches the location that Fleetwood says it is at. Any help would be appreciated.
  • Have someone activate the jacks while you are outside. Should be very easy to hear the motor operating and therefore locate it and the reservoir.
  • I have a 2006 Discovery and my reservoir is on passenger side in rear panel. Its a round tank. It has a plug on top. Plug has a dip stick and there should be 3/4 inch of ATF fluid on the stick. If you have been having a leak in one of the cylinders then your fluid level is below the sensor on side of reservoir. That is why your beeper goes off. Add ATF not hydraulic oil.
  • On our 2005 Fleetwood Excursion 39S, it's behind the right rear wheel.

The fill plug is above and to the left of the yellow label. It takes about a 7/8" socket - I don't remember the exact size.

  • Once you find the tank, note that with my Power Gear system, I was successful using ATF Stop Leak to stop a leak in my right rear jack. I did need to take care that I didn't park where that jack would be stressed with side forces but I could usually go 2 years before repeating the treatment.
  • And make sure you check the level when all jacks are retracted ( up).
  • I have a 2009 Bounder and the pump and reservoir is next to the LEFT front jack. Easily seen and accessed with the main slide extended.

FOUND IT! Behind right front jack. Had to remove back panel of stairs. Riser of stair way is removable. Above coach battery box.
