We've had two different sets of HWH "kick down" levelers. The first set was supposed to kick down as they extended, based on a spring arrangement. The second set has an extra small ram on the side of the main one, to help it kick. Both sets have had problems. Lubing the pivot/linkage helps. Lubing the piston and seal area seems to also. HWH recommends using Silicone Spray near the hydraulic parts.
