I-10 is rough regardless of direction

I came across there in October and, frankly, it wasn't as bad as I expected. The long bridge has a rhythm to it that I didn't care for and just west of the Mississippi River bridge at Baton Rouge the road is pretty bad for 20 miles or so. Aside from that, I didn't think it was all that bad. I'll be interested what you think of it after you drive it.

Slowing down 5 mph or speeding up 5 mph can often greatly reduce the rhythmic up or down.

An option is to go to the north bridge in Baton Rouge and take US Hwy 190 across to Ragley and then LA-12 to the Texas border.

I traveled to Canada with the stock suspension and hated it so much that I installed the Kelderman air bags. It's not perfect, but certainly much better than before.

I traveled that same route and hated it. If you make it across that span of road without your MH falling apart you have a good MH.

BTW forget about trying I-20 it isn't much better.

A few years ago we were travelling I-10 for our first time. There was a Class A in front of us and we were running with traffic. All of a sudden I saw the Class A really take a jolt and almost cleared the road. I braked and hit the same depression though at a slower speed. We both pulled over at the next chance to examine our rigs.
We lost our TV in the fiver and the Class A lost a shock on the front. We both felt fortunate that was all that happened. Since then when we hit I-10 we know to drive at a reduced speed and be prepared.

I assume you are not staying on I10 thru NO? The bypass tho not perfect is way better. I drove thru the city on I10 once just for a look see. Never again!

Correct-- if you are just traveling, take I 12.

And I 10 is MUCH better now than even a few years ago.
