I-95 blocked

We are headed to Myrtle Beach in the AM. I called the RV park (Ocean Lakes) and they advised they were OK with a bit of beach erosion that is being addressed. According to SCDOT, Rt 38 at I95 is open as is 501 and 544 all the way to the southern end of MB.

God Bless all who are having to endure the flooding in Georgetown, Charleston and Columbia.

News last night said several bridges and overpasses had the underpinning wash out due to the flood.. They are working as fast as possible to fix but there are so many it's going to be a while.. head west, then south.

As of this morning there are 500 roads closed in South Carolina.

Did you'll see the video of the white PU drive into the raging creek, and be swept away, when there was already a PU 3/4 submerged in the road!

Yeah, it's a 1 in a 1000 chance based on 100 years of data. :)

So, assuming a "chance" sample is equal to one year then....

Apparently, the actual odds are closer 1 in a 100...maybe 1 in 200 and possibly 1 in 300 if the data goes back far enough.

Gotta love statistics...especially made up ones. :) Say whatever catches viewers eyes & ears to sell more papers and get more viewers.

I want to know where their 1000 year history came from. As far as I know, there were no US citizens here 1000 years ago and the history does not support their analogy. True weather records only go back a few hundred years.

It will probably reopen when the water recedes and the road and bridges can be inspected to ensure they are safe.

When will that be? You want a day certain? They are dealing with historic 1000 year flooding and you want them to set a date the road will we open! Geez!!!!!
