ICE MAKER HOSE

Hi, i have a class A motorhome and the ice maker hose sprang a leak.
how do you go about changing it out. I can't seem to trace it down or see where it runs to. the manuals do not show anything.
  • It would help if we knew what model reefer you have. Most have the water line running up the back of the reefer visible if you take the external panel off. You can use compression fittings to replace a section of it without changing the whole line.
  • it might run to the kitchen sink area if on the same wall
  • This is a common problem. The only real way to replace it is to remove the refrigerator.
  • You might have to pull the refer out a bit to reach the connection to the ice maker. Don't use the standard hose, go to Home Depot and a line made out of PEX. They are in the refer section. When you reinstall, do not put the heater wire back in. That is what caused the hole to begin with

If you can see the leak - Place a compression coupling on it at the leak point - if not, try to fish and change out with new - last turn off.

    Best of Luck,
  • Mine is fed thought the water filter under the kitchen sink , not hard to change, remove kitchen drawers an it run along the floor to the back of the refrigerator. to the solenoid, then up the the ice maker.

Though it can be done by another method the standard method is to remove the 'fridge (or at least tilt it into the RV) then you can easily follow the path and replace the hose.

My solution was a bit easier.. I pulled it and went with a small portable ice maker, Very happy with the results.
