With some help, I've finally been able to use my over the air TV antenna. I'm amazed at the quality of the picture. The Antenna is a King HD, it was on the motor home when I bought it. Nice to know, I have a source for local TV when traveling.

Hi,Since Television went digital quality is the same so long as the signal can be captured. It is rather similar to a light switch. When the switch is on--there is light. When it is off, there is no light.Back in the analog days quality varied with the inverse square law. A great antenna would improve both range and quality. With digital--only the range is an issue.

We use our OTA BATWING on our off-road POPUP all the time... Gets great reception of the BROADCAST TV signals from the local towns...Mine is mounted on a pole up the side of the POPUP - I can reach through a window flap and rotate it when setting up...Roy Ken

Yes, OTA TV is good enough that we're about to dump cable TV at home to save $80 per month. Our cable company is about to raise rates a second time in less than a year.Bill

If you are in an area with a lot of trees, for example a state park that is still close to a major metropolitan area, you could still get what is called, digital pixelation. This is just as bad as analog snow.

And what makes it more amazing is the TV stations reduced their power output by a major amount when they went digital... I do this on radio from time to time, Voice, pushing 100 watts I can talk to most of the US and have made but one overseas contact (Being mobile/portable I do not have a fantastic antenna set up) Digital, modes, pushing like 30-40 watts, most of the world.Same radio, Same wire antenna, just changed modes.

I get 2 channels of Fox news for free OTA.

The OTA digital signal quality is great but there are times I wish for the days of video snow as compared to image freeze and the dreaded 'Lost Signal' message. Digital TV version of the PC blue screen of death.

I sometimes think my OTA TT reception is better than my Directv reception at home! The digital OTA signal can be crystal clear!

X2 Those commercials are a stitch.
I am shocked how many people I meet here that that don't understand how I can watch TV without cable or satellite.

My guess is unless you are an RV'er the rest of the "uninformed" public does not know about free TV over an antenna. Sadly it's all part of the dumbing down of America. :(

It made me laugh this summer when traveling out west CA.ect how many comerchels wanting teach you how to get FREE TV. They were going to revel that TV was being broadcast "for free". I think it's kind of sad but funny that some of these people have grown up and think you have to have a box to get tv.
