You should not be replacing parts based on a wild guess.....and many times not based upon advice obtained from the Internet either. :)
The battery can be tested. The charging voltage should be tested too. If the battery is weak, it might be that way because it isn't being charged properly.
BUT....it is true that both chassis and house batteries should have a small automatic charger connected to them when sitting unused for more than a month at a time.....if you have easy access to 110V power. If you don't have access to shore power, then that's a whole different discussion.
