Inverter Mystery

Last night while parked overnight in a relatives yard and connected to a 15 amp extension cord and our Xantrex 458 (2k) inverter in normal operation a problem developed.

First symptom was a blinking bedroom clock, as if inside coach AC power had been momentarily lost. Reset clock and noted that refrigerator was operating normally on external AC power. When I got up a couple of hours later, I turned on the Keurig Coffee pot. The blue light came on momentarily but instantly turned off and would not come on again. Now all AC receptacles are dead.

The LEDs on both the Inverter and the remote panel appear normal but I have no AC from the inverter in the coach. While traveling today and running the generator the Air conditioners, water heater and AC refrigerator worked fine.

Many of the AC receptacles are GFI and ganged together but the reset buttons do not trip or reset (probably because they are dead). This inverter has been in continuos operation since we bought the coach in 2004. I recall replacing a control fuse inside it perhaps 5 years ago, perhaps to restore the charging operation.

Page 31 of the Xantrex Manual lists a trouble shooting guide based on the LED status. On the inverter the left hand LED is blinking green once per second. The second LED is solid green. Normal according to the trouble shooting chart. Coach batteries are 12.7 VDC. I’ve unplugged all loads. What’s my next step?
