- FIRE_UPExplorerGeorge,
That stuff's fun. It's not like todays "all computer" setups. I suspect that with a bit of help from some of our "seasoned" vets here, you'll have it going in no time. There's not all that many wires to the ignition switch is there? If it's a GM, then all you need really is an older "Mitchells" manual or, maybe even a Clymers, or, some of the other popular ones sold at many auto parts stores.
Some of those had wiring diagrams in them and with the colors of the wires. GM wiring is GM wiring, no different than most other GMs of the same era. If it's a Ford, than the same applies. Too bad I'm not in the area, that would be fun to help you with. Let us know how you make out on it.
Scott - GeorgeClintonExploreryeah ill post a pic of them tonite...i have the switch but pos. and Neg. are not marked i got the yellow as ignition? Red as pos.? Sooooo confused. dont wanna blow up.
- BrianinMichiganExplorerWell, I wouldn't think so. It's probably the main 12 volts for kicking in the starter . Do the colors in the pictures line up at all with what you have?
- GeorgeClintonExplorerthose are great pictures but no help...if i take a volt meter and find wire putting out 12v..thats my acc wire correct?
- GeorgeClintonExploreryes from the very little knowledge i have...i believe its a p 30 chassis
- BrianinMichiganExplorerFord? GM? I'm guessing GM because I had the back of my switch melt because of switch failure.
