It's a lot easier to go new. When you talk to installers, they're usually going to want to ignore your old unit totally and mount something completely new. This means you have a second dome and wiring run where you may not want it. We only found one place that would mount the new unit within our old dome on our 2005 Fleetwood. This may or may not make a difference to you.
I would thoroughly talk to them to make sure you completely understand what they want to do. Also ask about how and where they're going to run the cabling and how the controller is going to work - can you watch different shows at the same time in the front and the back?
You can go with the Traveler, but to me that was going to be a PITA getting it and out all of the time because we're usually never in the same place more than two nights at a time.
And, actually after we put in a new controller box, two new smart TVs and the little booster up on the bat wing antenna, we decided that going to satellite TV wasn't worth it - we get get excellent TV, and most of it's HD, over the bat wing antenna. It really surprised us. I'd try out the OTA (Over The Air) TV before you spend time and money on satellite TV.
