Knife holder project

We had an aftermarket knife holder that I had mounted on the inside of a door under the sink in our old Four Winds. However, we didn't have sufficient room on the door in the new Sunseeker, so we pondered what we should do with the kitchen knifes. Here's the result:

Project under pressure:

Test fit:

Finished product:
  • We have a small (4) knife block on the kitchen counter in our motorhome. Behind the stove, in the corner up against the spatter guard that protects the sofa. It is mounted with double stick mounting tape, and has not moved whatsoever in many, many miles of travel. Same with the spice rack.
  • Mineral Oil: Done!

I put a coat of water based finish on the block. An oil base would have worked as well, but requires more maintenance.

GREAT knife block! But PLEASE put some mineral oil on those handles! I love those wood handles but you do have to maintain them a little bit.

that was my first thought when I saw the knifes.....
