purchaser is the one who noticed the error message, they gave me a deposit knowing this was an issue - just "trying" to see if I can find an easy fix and correct this. In all likelihood the problem is a combination of the weather and the programing of the controller. If you're in Brighton Michigan the temperature this time of year regularly falls to the single digits or low teens. The message "leveler retract timeout error" happens when the actual time to raise the jacks to the home position exceeds the maximum time programmed in the controller.
If it only happens on rare occasions in cold weather it's likely the oil is so thick the pump can't force it through the system fast enough to raise the jacks before the system times out. If it happens on a regular basis the preset time in the controller should be changed. This has to be done by a technician with the proper equipment.
