LED TV Mount

I did the same thing to my Bounder. Took the old 27in TV out, put up a 3/4 inch backer piece of plywood, painted flat black, and then mounted a flat screen bracket to it. The bracket I have has a lock on it to keep the 32in TV from "jumping" off.

I did not hinge the plywood backer board, just cut a nice 2in hole in it for the cables to come thru. I can easily reach behind the TV now, unlock it, slide it up and off the bracket, and then it's just 3 screws per side to back out and that entire backer board comes off.

We had an Amish cabinet shop make our tv cabinet and they bolted it(TV) directly onto the door with no problems so far.. (2 years ago) They used three matching (like the rest of the coach) hinges so we have access to storage behind the 32" TV.. Mike Mathews..

X2 I got my mount from Best Buy. Removed old tv and screwed a piece of 2x4 on the vertical on right side. Used four lag bolts to mount articulating mount to 2x4 then two strips of Velcro on the sides to hold in place. Ended up with a nice little storage place behind tv now. Also real nice to be able to pull tv out and twist and angle.

I used one of the articulated mounts that was rated for up to 60lbs.

We got out flat screen mount from MOR/RYDE. Check their website for styles and application.

Good comment. Not shown: Use Loctite and / or lock washers to avoid any chance of shaking loose. Using plywood also lessens the chance of compression and the loosening of bolts.

I started building mounts like this in 2009. Nothing has fallen down yet :)

I have seen those mounting screws pull out of the back of the tvs from the jarring of the road .

After removing our old analog TV, I had the inside of the TV space finished and a door prepared to close the space just like our other cabinets in the RV. However, this door had a full-length piano hinge at the top. A hole cut in the door for cables to pass through. The TV was mounted directly to the door (4 of the 5mm screws hold it securely to the cabinet door). This makes for a very solid assembly. The cabinet door can be opened and swings up 90 degrees to allow access to the space inside the cabinet. I did a prototype of this and had the professionals at Winnebago in Forest City prepare the actual door on their computer controlled equipment. Result looks just great! They also added a thin sheet of steel on the inside of the cabinet door to support the weight of the TV (their door panel was thinner than the 1/2" ply I used for the prototype). This has proven to be very functional for us especially since we never need to adjust the angle of the TV once it was set.

I mounted a 50" LED TV in front using a plywood box mount.

After seeing some other conversions, I mounted the rear TV over a hidden compartment using 3 Euro Hinges that allows flush mounting and no visible hinges or locks.
