I have my Hoppy levels where I can see them from the drivers seat. I also have one on the fridge. I have never seen any appreciable difference between the ones in the cab and the one on the fridge.
I would try "Amazing Goop" to replace the 2 sided sticky tape. There is not much that Goop doesn't stick to.
