Phil, your floorplan is very good, but doesn't seem to exist today. I believe you've commented on that yourself IIRC. The tradeoffs I see in comparing the two are that the SS has a full, rectangular 60x80 bed, where yours is 75" with a clipped corner. I would be happy with an unclipped 75" bed on the SS if they added the 5" to the kitchen. But I can't complain about getting a regulation size bed. Yours has a larger dinette, which is nice. The SS has a large wardrobe and two columns of drawers, which is nice too. I would swivel the passenger seat and omit the lounge chair, myself. So for me the ideal would be a combination of yours and the SS. But both are extremely workable IMO.
The SS has some real good stuff on it. 2" Azdel & foam walls, enclosed tanks and dump valves, Firestone Air Bags, water filter, electric awning, fiberglass roof, ducted AC, transfer switch, oven, integrated access step (no external step), fiberglass cap, flat cab floor, etc. I realize a lot of rigs have similar stuff, but I think it is a lot of value for the money. Plus I want the Chevy 4500 chassis for the leg room, handling and MPG. I hope the ride is not too rough on the 4500, since it probably only really needs a 3500.
I've been working the computer and phones today and have gotten the dealers down to some great pricing. One is less than 50K, but it's a 500 mile drive. We plan to decide tomorrow.
