looking for a 'toad' - Suzuki X90?

We have a 25' Class A, and we are considering a tow vehicle for future travels. We looked at a Suzuki X90 today, automatic with 4X4. It's a little 2-seater, and wouldn't add a lot of weight. But is it practical?

Has anyone towed one of these?

Thoughts?

There are actually three in the local craigslist. The one we are looking at has 234,000 kilometers but appears in excellent condition, with no rust. We will probably take it for a test drive this afternoon. Don't know if that's high miles for an X90 or not, but it wouldn't get a huge amount of use, although I might be tempted to take it to an orphan car show now and again.

  • Go for the X90, always thought it was a neat car/suv. Who needs practical, been there, done that. Our former toad was a '96 Geo Tracker, 4 door automatic, 4 x 4, was practical and light weight. We're looking for a light weight (2500#) '06-'11 6 speed Miata hard top, to tow behind our B+. Our current practical and dependable '03 Sport Trac is just too heavy @ 4300# dry weight, for our "vacation rig". In 31 years with a motorhome, we've towed, a 4 speed Mazda GLC, a 5 speed Dodge Colt RT, 2 automatic Aerostar vans, the automatic Tracker and the automatic Sport Trac, time for some fun! All were great toads when properly set up.
  • Get a tracker or Sidekick two door. Way more practical being a four place vehicle. we are on our second Suziki and both vehicles were absolutely bullet proof. I was so sad to see Suzuki pullout of north america market. They made some fine vehicles at very good prices. Also remember, Suzuki is the number two auto manufacturer in Japan. That says something.
