- FreshAirExplorerI just looked at mine again, it wasn't the 9260. I had got the 9270,70 amp also and the little remote thingy. It replaced the wfco 8800, 80 amp. I couldn't see a need for the 9280, 80 amp, and it was a big jump in cost and bigger in size.
- LobstahExplorerLike Pat, I went with the PD from Amazon, only I got the 9270, which has gone up in price from when I purchased it. I bought the extra little plug in charge wizzard thingy, which isn't really needed as far as I can tell.
Jim - FreshAirExplorerSure sounds like the converter might be bad. I had to replace mine last year for the same symptom, lights going dim, and my FAN was also runing a whole lot. My batteries were good. You most likely have the Wabco converter which does not have the greatest reputation among converters.
To check first determine if your getting 120vac to the converter and if you are then check for 14vdc charging volts at the batteries with shore power or gen running. 120 vac at coverter and not 14 vdc charging from the converter means bad converter.
Like mentioned it's been an issue. I would suggest looking at the Progressive Dynamics {PD} Intel converters. They use the smart charger technology plus you'll not hear the fan noise anymore. They are unplug the old and plug in the new. Converters have progressed a long way since ours. I bought the 9200 series, 9260 I think, 60 amp, which was about 5 amp smaller than the Wabco I had. About $150.

I'm having the same problem, so I'm also interested in what y'all think.
That IS a classic converter issue, at least it was on our coach. Also, fan started running more and more, then it was on almost all the time.
Check your batts. What happened with us was the campground lost power for 3-4 days in a storm. It was also incredibly cold at that time. The batteries (old) froze, and we didn't know it. They were damaged, and the converter was working it's butt of trying to maintain a charge on them. Replaced the batts, all was well, except the converter had been overworked so badly that it was dying.
$150 on Amazon gets you a pretty nice converter, same size...easy swap.

I'm having the same problem, so I'm also interested in what y'all think. - dkingdoeExplorerREPORTING BACK ... Thank goodness it was a simple fuse. The hard part was find it. It was the IGNITION RELAY FUSE located in the Battery Fuse Box located in the bin over the propane tank. It was a 3 amp fuse .. we were looking for 15, 20 or 25 amp fuse. Replaced it & all is working.
Now we have another issue, which I'm thinking could be that our converter my be going out because the 12v lights go dim & then later brighten up. What do y'all think? We are heading home so we'll have our RV repair guy check it out.

And, as of today we are sitting at Tom Sawyer RV Park in West Memphis, AR & can't get the slides out. When we first arrived yesterday afternoon the rear camera monitor went out, then the electric sun shade quit working & then once we got setup the slides wouldn't come out. We're thinking & "hoping" it just a blown fuse somewhere. Got a RV repairman coming out today to look. I'll report back with the verdict.
~~ Anyone have this problem?
Until then, have a good day! - Meme_RayExplorer

We also had multiple problems with our monitors (I think it was replaced 3 times). The final time they only made color monitors and so the B/W camera had to also be changed since it wouldn't work with a color monitor.
I hope the next owner enjoys it as much as we did.

Congrats also.
Your post was very timely for me as I am having monitor problems and was thinking about replacing it. Could you tell me a little about your last one, the colord monitor. Did it fit in the old spot and look like original equipment? If you would let me know brand and if you recommend it. Also what should one expect to pay for a new monitor and camera? Always something isn't there. Thanks,
Pat
Our monitor and camera were replaced in March of 2010. Whatever the brand of the original equipment was (Wes????)the same brand was used for the replacement. New part numbers are Monitor part#537069 $437.20 and Camera part#537070 $329.00. Our extended warranty paid for the equipment and installation. The new equipment fit just like the original and was very satisfactory. Worked well until we turned in the motor home earlier this morning.
If anyone is thinking of trading in. Don't under value your motor home. The dealer we are working with wanted our PA. Pace Arrows seem to be at a good trade in value right now because many looking for used units do not want a Ford chassis and since Workhouse is out of business these units are sought after by some buyers.

It's not a fuse. That would be too easy. I got a wiring diagram from Fleetwood. Those lights are on the 604 circuit, a yellow wire. The problem now is getting to that wire. I took the switch by the door that controls the fluorescent light above the steps out to see if there were any wires not connected. It only came out 1/2" so I could see nothing. It would be nice if Fleetwood would build any cabinets that have wiring in them with access panels.
The pedestal that those switches are in should have a removable face plate that will give you access to all the wiring, including the lighted door handle. - FreshAirExplorer

Pat - Meme_RayExplorerSome of you asked what we were upgrading to. We have picked a 2013 Winnebago Tour 42GD. It has a bathroom similar to the 2004 Pace Arrow 37C which was the thing sold us on the P/A purchase. The Winnebago is a little bigger all around and has much bigger tank space and is a diesel with a tag. We are gearing up for much longer trips in the next few years and this seemed to be a good fit for the future for us. The kitchen is in the front with the living area in the center with an L shaped couch and kitchen area. It will be nice to have a little more work space in the kitchen and the living area seems more like a home set up. It has a dishwasher that I laugh about and can't imagine what I am going to do with it. The sales people say that owners store their dishes in them. Sounds like the sales people don't really camp and need to have an answer for the loss of potential storage space. We were very happy with the Pace Arrow over the years after we got all the bugs worked out in the first two seasons. We did have a few quirky problems with the lights on the dinette/couch slide. Sometimes they would work and sometimes not. We suspected that there was a crimped wire in the main cable somewhere but the dealer never found it and then it quit happening. We are taking our trade in to the dealer this weekend and will wait for the new unit to arrive after the first of the year. We also had multiple problems with our monitors (I think it was replaced 3 times). The final time they only made color monitors and so the B/W camera had to also be changed since it wouldn't work with a color monitor.
