Had to replace plug wires twice, both covered by warranty. But no more problems since fresh air kit was installed. - Meme_RayExplorer

I have an 05 Pace with 13k miles and have no problems that I'm aware of. A reply of yes or no and the year/make would be great. Thank you. I should have added it's the 8.1

Moderator, leave it here if you have to delete one. - dkingdoeExplorerThe only on-going problem we seem to have with our 36B Pace are the dash fans {the ones that are hanging from the overhead cabinet}. Every time we take the MH into the dealer the one thing that's ALWAYS on the list are the dash fans, and they keep telling us it's the fuse. It's hard for us to believe that they can't find what keeps blowing the fuses. We just got it back after having the oil changed, and having them look at the fans 'again'. BUT, before we got a mile down the road, we checked the fans -- they worked less than a minute - out they went :h .
Has anyone else had problems with your fans?? - R2DillonExplorerWho did you contact at Dometic? What was the charge for the baffle kit?
- Paul_TurpinExplorerMeme,
Thanks, I got the same thing from Dometic a few week ago but I didn't know it was called a baffle kit. Like you, I have not put it on yet but looks simple. What my refrigerator was doing is when I am driving down the Interstate 55+ and the wind was blowing in just the right direction on the side, the wind would go down the flew and blow out the flame. It would relight then get blown out over and over until the check light comes on. I am going to start puting the wind block on the the top refrigerator side vent to see if that stops the wind. - Meme_RayExplorer

I second the info needed on the baffle kit.
The time I contacted Dometic and got some real assistance I told them about the ongoing problems we were having and that we had already had our igniter replaced and had the fridge serviced at the dealer but still had some problems for 4 years in a row just while on gas and traveling down the road. I told them I had heard there was a baffle kit and wanted more information. At first Dometic said there was a baffle kit but that it was for a smaller refrigerator, then they called back and said that they had checked and that it would work on our slightly larger refrigerator and agreed to send us one. It arrived a few days later. Hope this helps but like I said before our refrigerator never had a problem lighting on gas when we were standing still so we didn't have any gas flow or igniter problems

Meme&Ray... without having to dig to deep back in the forum, what does this baffle kit do? I've had some trouble getting the refrig to light on propane, especially after it's been setting in storage for awhile, but once it's lit it works fine. In my case I think it's gunk in the gas valve. I was going to buy a new one, but they want over $230 for one. Dometic's troubleshooting says to soak the gas nozzle in alcohol if you suspect problems with it, so I guess it wouldn't hurt to do the same thing to the gas valve, provided you pull the wirewound solenoid off first.
The baffle kit blocks some of the air flow going into the outside access panel for the refrigerator. Our refrigerator always lights fine on gas. We can even fire it up the night before a trip, get it good and cold and load it up. It is when we are on the road and traveling that the gas check light comes on and then we are unable to re-light it while moving. We can re-light it at a rest stop while standing still but then have it go out again later. The assumption has been that too much air coming through the vented access panel blow the gas burner out. We have not installed the kit yet but it appears to be a pretty simple installation. The parts are all metal and block about two-thirds of the access vents.
This kit will not solve any normal lighting problems that you are having with your refrigerator.

Meme&Ray,Sorry to hear about your on going problems. I guess we have been lucky so far as we have not had anything concerning since getting some minor build issues taken care of in the first few months after delivery. "knock on wood."
I was somewhat surprised to hear about your plug wire problems as I hadn't heard of the Pace Arrows with our grill design having that problem. I must have missed some post's. How soon did you start having burnt wires, I only have 13,000 miles on mine but haven't checked the wires. Good to see you had some help from WH.

We have about 22,000 on our PA now and I would say we have the first pair of spark plug wires burn out last year around 15,000. We replaced 2 wires last year and then early this year had a problem with 2 more wires and opted to change out all the wires with lifetime warranty wires. Pretty sure that was in June. We took a trip from KY to FL in October and on the way back experienced miss firing again. That was our last trip of the season. The dealer said the wires were burnt again and they replaced them all under the wire warranty. That's when we said enough is enough and started looking further and ended up contacting Workhorse.
