Lucas oil diesel stop leak additive

Well just an update the dipstick tube was the problem. It cracked completely off inside the generator. Had repair guy out to fix it. There ia a new design where the metal meets the rubber tube. New tube, oil change, fuel filter change, air filter, 2 new belts, tensionner, new brushes, labor and complete cleaning 650.00 good for another 8 yrs I hope

It will work for awhile then all your seal and gaskets will begin to weep and eventually leak oil.

I don't recall but Lucas, STP, etc.they are all "seal swellers" that eventually turn your seals to "mush". A short term solution for a permanent problem. This is my opinion and experience. I suggest you Google oil leak sealants and see what others in some auto forums think.

Could be WAY too much - any instructions on the container on how many quarts/gallons it will treat ? .75 qt is 37.5% of your oil.

No won't hurt the "engine" but it swells the gaskets to stop the leak. It doesn't just stop there, it keeps reacting on all the gaskets over time to a point they all deteriorate. Anyway that's what happened when I used it to cure a small leak. Cost me 1400 bucks to have all the gaskets replaced it came in contact with in my jeep. That was my result....never again.

Rollin by reading on their website for the product it states it is not harmful at all to the engine. It may not stop my leak and will require a service from a repair shop but maybe worth it to try it.

It swells and will eventually ruin every gasket it touches. It is an inexpensive short term fix that you will pay for down the road. What's the old commercial.... Pay me now or pay me later.
