You got 7.2 MPG with the tag do you think you would get around the same with 1 axle? 20% worse......?

We are currently traveling in the motorhome. I rechecked the Aladdin computer and my average is 7.8 over 68,700 miles. I have also every receipt for every tank of fuel with my miles written down (also aqua-hot usage) so one day I will figure it manually.

I honestly don't think the extra axle will reduce the fuel mileage much. The greatest advantage is the extra cargo carrying capacity and stability that it gives you. On a 42 ft. motorhome, it will take up some storage space.

If you are looking at a 41 ft. motorhome without a tag axle, check the cargo carrying capacity. You might be limited to just a few thousand pounds, whereas, we have at least 8,000 lbs. of wiggle room and can tow 10,000 lbs.
