Magnum Energy System

We have a Magnum Energy System. We have it set for the generator to start when the voltage gets low, sometimes it starts when we are not there and it is still running when we come home. Is there a way to tell how long it has been running!
Thanks for all comments!
  • Thanks for all the comment. Now I know how long the gen-set has been running.
  • You can set the length of time you want the genset to run...I have mine set for an hour. There are settings for quiet time, length of time, etc.
  • Yes, the generator has an hour counter/meter. There is also one on the LCB. And our Magnum also shows it on the control panel.

We had an issue with the AGS in our Phaeton starting for no apparent reason and not shutting off. A Tiffin electrical engineer said it was caused by line noise. A tech at Red Bay installed a resistor and that resolved the issue.

Your ME-ARC50 remote will have that information. Consult page 58 of the owner's manual. On the remote, go into the METER menu, and then AGS... excerpt from the manual:

METER: 04C Gen Run Time Menu
This read-only menu displays the length of time the generator has been running since it was
autostarted. This helps determine how long the generator has been running since it was autostarted—in
case you were not present when it started. This menu is enabled when CTRL: 03 Gen
Control is set to AUTO, but does not display run time when the generator has been manually
started. This meter is not designed to replace an hour meter that shows the total hours the generator
has run—refer to the METER: 04G Hour Meter menu.
  • Have you spoken with Magnum?? Perhaps there is a setting that will turn it off after some parameter had been met?? Tracking hours on the hour meter would also work for gathering run time info. Some coaches have a gen run time hour meter by the panel, if you don't have one it may be an easy install.

Not unless you keep track of the meter readings. (hour meter)
