Major Battery Drain on 07 Georgetown Class A
We have a problem with our 07 Georgetown 350DS Class A Motorhome draining both the Starter Battery and the House batteries in a matter of 3 days. I can't figure out where the draw on the batteries is coming from. I just put in a brand new Starter battery because my old one (6Months) old would not even register on AutoZones battery meter, charger to try and bring it back to life... It was an Optima Red Top. Replaced under warranty. My house batteries are 2 Trojan T105 6V's. These are about 8 months old. We have been having this problem for almost 2 years now but have put a bandaid on it by keeping them both on a trickle charger to keep them full. So about 4 days ago I wanted to see how fast they would drain. I put the Schumacher Charger on the batteries and did a rapid charge on the batteries until they all showed 100% then waited until the next day and checked voltage. This is what I got.
Day 1
Starter 12.3v
House 12.27v
Day 2
Starter 11.94v
House 11.69
Day 3
Starter 11.20v
House 11.41
Day 4
Starter 6.46
House 6.44
So you can see there is a consistent voltage drop from each day and major drop from day 3-4. I have no idea what's going on. To be honest this is actually pretty good because before I had an RV Mechanic tell me to turn off the Climate control Switch off in the Dometic Refrigerator my batteries would drain in about 12-16hrs to the point you couldn't even start the Motorhome without a jump. All these numbers are with the Dometic Climate Control switch off and it lasted a few days longer but something else is causing a drain on the batteries.
Also when the RV is not being driven like now when I tested the batteries I have the House Disconnect switch turned on so everything should be disconnected.. Not sure where to go from here..
Any ideas?
