- yankee_camperExplorerI have a 1990 Coachmen 25 ft. 5th wheel with an aluminum roof. Being anal I painted the roof with white Dicor Elastomeric paint. Did a great job at controlling indoor temps, I would say it knocked it down a good 5-10 degrees... but the stuff lifted and peeled like a sunburn on an Irishman in the desert w/in a year. To add insult to injury when it flakes off during a bath or rain storm it sticks to the siding and won't come off unless you sandblast it!!! If anyone out there has a suggestion I'm all ears.
- Tramp844ExplorerI have reflectics on every window. This rv is old and not as insulated as some of the new stuff you folks have and it dont go far from here. It has lots of issues but, it was free ! thank you all for your help .
- Johno02ExplorerIf you have enough money, you can cool almost anything. For the rest of us, pull up the jacks and go to someplace cooler. If you are staying at the same place, shade helps, even if you have to buy it.
- BordercollieExplorerI wonder how comfortable full timers are in typical Class C's in really hot weather despite all of the things that can be done to help survive the heat. Maybe they find a library, senior citizen's center or movie theatre.to get through the hottest times of the day.

Might be best to call Tiffin inc. And ask them about this. Watching for other comments and thank you all.
Its a 93, just apply it you will be happy, but like I said above you need to block the windows during the hot summer months. - Tramp844ExplorerMight be best to call Tiffin inc. And ask them about this. Watching for other comments and thank you all.

I want to say the roof on this 1993 allgro bay class c is fiberglass but i just dont know. Ill look into it. Some say " ive used it with no problem"and some "say dont ever use it" im new to this i dont have any idea. all i know is ITS HOT.
So many folks just don't know, I have seen the liquid rubber coating used on almost anything without any issues, here in the southwest its been applied everywhere and still no issues, I applied last year on my 20 year old roof on my home and its been great, have seen temps lower in house and now my 20 year old shingles will last another 20 years.
I should have applied this 10 years ago. - Tramp844ExplorerI want to say the roof on this 1993 allgro bay class c is fiberglass but i just dont know. Ill look into it. Some say " ive used it with no problem"and some "say dont ever use it" im new to this i dont have any idea. all i know is ITS HOT.
- timmacExplorerOPer Koolseal might help but not that much, during the hot months you might want to try the aluminum heat shield rolls from Lowes/Home Depot on some of the windows to help with the heat, most RV's just are not good above 95 degrees, here in Vegas we see 110 as our normal and with 2 ac's running full time its still not so great till sunset, so blocking the windows is the only way to keep it comfortable.
- Tramp844ExplorerOk thanks for the info. On koolseal. Its in a lot, in the sun and the ac running wide open and its still HOT. Ac is working good its just the sun beating down on it. The poor ac cant keep up, bless its little heart. I feel sorry for it. :) . might rig up a silver tarp over it kinda like pup tent style. Leaving the ends open for vintalation. Your thoughts ? other ideas ?
