Maytag Fridge leak question

We have a residential Maytag side by side with the lower freezer drawer. I keep having ice buildup in the bottom of the freezer and when the slides are operated, I get a small amount of water on our tile floor. I am pretty sure that the drain tube in the fridge is plugged up and not draining to the pan. Watched a You Tube video on how to clean this drain but you have to pull the fridge out from the wall which means pulling it out of the slide and to the main floor. Trying to find a way to clear this drain without moving the fridge. I have a small access exterior door to the back of the fridge but not big enough to do anything. Does anyone know of how I can clear this drain from inside the fridge? I thought about just unplugging it and let it all defrost. I keep the fridge running 24/7. Any comments??
  • Many refrigerators have this problem. Sometimes debris hangs up in the drain. Popcorn seed, mold etc.

Try cleaning from the inside, after a complete defrost (off for 12 hours+). Find the drain and flush with a little hot water with a bit of bleach.

A trick I have done while working on some people refrigerators, is to put a paper-clip rapped over the defrost element and hanging into the defrost drain hole. This will help melt the ice plug in the drain.
  • Here is the fix from last year
