Mice.

My Winnebago Aspect sits on a 2007 Ford E450 chassis. I'm having trouble with mice while it is in storage. I've found two spots where they are getting in. The easy one to fix was around the electrical cord from the generator where it entered the motor home. They chewed thru a grommet. The spot I can't seem to block is I believe entering from the engine compartment into the cab. I can't find the exact spot. I've sprayed "pest proof" expandable foam into a few spots where wiring enters, but they are still getting in.

Anybody win a similar battle? Any suggestions other than keep trapping? Thanks.

    Buy some Fresh Cab... The stuff really works.

    X2, this stuff works great. It will keep mice out of a lot of stuff!!! Easy to use and no dead mice.
  • Well----I can tell you what DOESN'T work: Irish Spring soap!

    Last year I read on an RV forum that pieces of Irish Spring would repel mice. So I bought several bars, as well as some netting fabric . I cut each bar in to pieces, carefully tied them up in each pouch of netting, and placed them in all storage compartments and some interior cabinets.

    Fast forward to this spring: My husband brought me a few "pouches" and mentioned that I needed to wrap them better..........I looked at them and noticed many sets of little micey tooth marks all over the soap! Those little buggers had chewed through the netting and eaten the soap!

    So much for the Irish Spring Soap Theory!

    Guess I'll try something different this year ;}

    (Lucky for us--we haven't noticed any other mouse signs or damage)
  • Trapped 8 of the darn critters last summer. Lots of spray foam and steel wool and I think I have a handle on them.
    Start placing sticky traps all over the place.
  • I had a pile of acorns on my E450 engine block! They got in and I tried everything. Dryer sheets, plug in devices, solar devices, sprays, poison, glue traps, peperment oil, scented packets, conventional mouse traps and even Have A Heart Traps. I also left all my cabinets and drawers open during storage so there would be no dark hiding places. I had an RV pad behind my house so checked on the RV weekly. I even adopted my neighbors 2 cats to help potrol the area. All these techniques helped. The final solution was to trade in the motor home. I hope there were no stowaways! P.S. To the new owners.......there names are Lucy, Ernest, Mickey and Ralph and they love Skippy Creamy peanut butter!
