- EMD360ExplorerYes, original generator. Yes it is loud, LOTS louder than a Honda. We have camped near people with Honda's. Of course we have camped near people with Champions and if you think ours is loud, it is micro-quiet compared to one of those.
Ours only has about 70 hours on it because we don't use it much, even though we boondock. Have mostly 12 volt stuff and turn it on only for a couple of hours at a time to microwave or to charge our extra batteries.
We had to replace the carburetor because it was so gummed up when we bought ours. We try to remember to exercise it once a month now. I have blown out the exhaust system, changed the air filter, bought a new spark plug but they apparently only have to be changed at 150 hours--oil change--regular maintenance.
Had trouble with it at 10,000 ft. Will have to figure out the altitude adjustment for Colorado. It is a nice to have item. But we enjoy quiet by not using it much. - ron_dittmerExplorer IICody, don't spend another moment wondering about the loud noise of the generator. All Onans are loud. They should be called macro-loud, not micro-quiet. The only way to make them quiet is not to run them.
BTW: Nice coach for the money, and Debt-FREE is #1 by me. - GrumpyGatorExplorer

I got a quote for 52,000 . Do you think this is a good price ?
thanks
That's real close. - CodyClassBExplorer IIEMD360 , thanks.
Do you still have the original generator? Does it make very loud noise ? I only have Honda EU2000i . Compared to the Honda generator, the Onan generator is very loud. so I am not sure if mine is bad because it is loud, but it provide enough power for the coach and appears to be running fine for a long time. - EMD360ExplorerIt is beautiful! I want to take the decals off our ours. Yours looks much nicer without the old decals. The vinyl trim is loose near the passenger door. That would normally wrap under and be screwed into the bottom. Take a look at those overhead running lights. When we got ours I took them off and lined them with eternabond. They were starting to rust inside from leakage. I also read here what a wonder eternabond is and redid all the roof openings with the stuff as a leak insurance plan. The shiny surface makes me think someone used Zep floor finish on it. That stuff makes the fiberglass look brand new again. You will love this rig!
- CodyClassBExplorer IIHere is the 2003 Minnie 24F .
Paid $13500 . (paid off, no debt :))
It has 85,000 miles . The engine appears to be very strong (F-450). I drove over 50 miles today.
Very good condition . Inside is very clean . Outside looks a little old (still good for it's age)
No damage and everything is functional
Onan 4000 generator has 1100 hours but it is working well . It is a little loud (louder than the truch engine).
The Minnie decals is painted over so the whole RV is white (not sure why the previous owner did this, but the truck has never been in an accident. - EMD360ExplorerYou may find some hidden rotten spots. So be prepared to do some maintenance. Ours looked 100% inside and out but behind the spare tire mount at the bottom we found a rotten panel. Not too difficult to fix but took time. I only spent about $100 on materials using cement board siding and cedar to replace the bad panel that was across the rear (but beneath the coach floor.) We have LOVED our 2003 Itasca and these are fantastic machines. Although that one you found and that price would have tempted me! :-)
- ron_dittmerExplorer IICody,
I commend you for avoiding unnecessary debt.
Just so you know, the dealer offered you over 30% off MSRP. I am NOT saying you should have bought the new one, just saying it was a great deal. But if you had to borrow a lot of money to buy it, then it really is NOT a great deal.
That is how I feel about it. - jimh406Explorer IIICongrats, sounds like a great deal.
- CodyClassBExplorer IIThanks everyone for your replies. Here is a quick update.
I got the offer for a new MINNIE WINNIE 25B for $52,000. At the same time, I also searched ads on Craigslist for used RV (because I worry if we buy a new RV, we would have to make payments for 20 years. What happens if we change our lifestyle a few years later when the kids are older? Would we regret continuing making the payments?). My wife, on the other hand, likes new RVs. She hates used ones.
On the way to the dealership to sign the contact for the new RV, I got a call from the Craigslist seller who is selling his used 2003 MINNIE WINNIE 24F for $13,500. I made a U turn and stopped at his place first and bought his used RV after carefully inspected everything. The $ intended for the down payment of the new RV is used to pay off the old RV. No debt and no worry for the next 20 years.
Everything appears to be in good condition. I will post more pictures soon, but here is the video of a same model on you tube. The condition on my new "used" 2003 MINNIE WINNIE 24F is similar to this.
