Minnie Winnie cab power issue

Take it to a big box auto parts place and have it load tested. That will tell you right now if the battery is bad.

I've had the rig back and parked two days and truck battery low again today. However the aux switch allowed me to start it. Obviously I still have a problem.

The rig has HWH leveling system and when jacks are down and locked there is a red light on a dash of the cab that stays *ON*. Wondering if this is correct and could it be draining the truck battery?

Or is my truck battery possible shot?

Thanks again for all the battery help. Took it in for service today and discovered the switch that protects the truck battery was bad as well as the house batteries. Will get new house batteries next week and they replaced the switch. I'm good to go.

I'm sure I'll have lots more questions in this new venture of mine - thanks again!

As Bobbo said, not all chassis batteries are charged by the converter. I put a trickle charger on my chassis battery when the MH is not being used for more than a very few weeks.

I would make sure ALL grounds are clean and tight.

Not every rig has the converter charge the chassis battery. Mine didn't until I added a Trik-L-Start. I ran my chassis battery down a few times, till it died finally. Since I have put the Trik-L-Start on, my chassis battery has not gone down a single time.

My rig is a '04 27' Minnie Winnie with Ford 450. I'm taking the rig in to the local RV place for service tomorrow and will have the cables checked. However, I'm thinking it might need a trip to Les Schwabb??

Check that the postive battery cable terminal is not corroded inside on the post same for negative and that they are tight and that the negative ground "cables" are ok, one to the motor the other one from the motor to the chasis, there are a few fuses in the engine comparment that you can also check,
thats provided that the battery is charged, if you service the battery terminals and clean them after you attach the cables smear a good dolop of vaseline grease and you will not have corrosion.

There might be a positve starter solenoid cable and a positve supply cable for the cabin two separate cables that need to be inspected, I do not know what chasis you have so I am going on experience.

If is has the original battery, or even the second battery, it is most likely time to replace. Better to do it now that getting stranded on the road. If you are extremely lucky, most batteries will barely last five years.

Thank you for the suggestions! I've had the charger on several hours and everything is working again, so it was the battery. Guess my next project is to figure out why it drained when the rig is plugged in??
I've got a lot to learn and appreciate the help.
