Monaco Motorhome

Monaco and Hr are active brands...BUT many dealers went to a plan B after the Monaco fiasco and the change of owners...I don't think there are 10 Monaco dealers in the country..and the 2016 Dynasty Edsel'ed out due to price and all that is offered is the Diplomat which has a rear radiator. The HR line is out there but the names they use for the models don't line up in the same order they used to. The wall slide issue is probably simply a defect on a unit produced which REV group will cover..

We have a 2001 Diplomat 38 PBD with the kitchen/sofa in the slide. It has 5 rollers that it rolls on, 3 mounted to the floor that the bottom of the slide rolls on, and 2 mounted to the bottom of the slide that roll on the floor. The tiles in the kitchen rear were cracked and under broken, the floor mounted roller under the kitchen wasn't touching the bottom of the slide therefore not carrying any weight. After adjusting the rear most roller so that all rollers were carrying weight feel that was the reason for the broken tiles. One roller was carrying most of the weight. It dropped the rear of the slide about 1/2" I think this had come from the factory that way. Something to check anyway. Don

I have not heard of those having trouble. On the contrary, they usually have very good quality slide out systems....

It sounds like he has a bad roller on the slide.

I'd say this sounds like the most likely cause. Does it happen? Sure. Is it a common Monaco problem? By reading the forums and past history I wouldn't say so.

To the OP, I'd suggest while it's being repaired to ask what caused the failure, make sure it's properly addressed and move on.

And yes, Monaco is alive and well.

WE have had a Monaco for 6 years. No problems with that slide so far.

Monaco is NOT out of business. Monaco was purchased by the Rev Group Inc. who also owns Fleetwood, American Coach and Holiday Rambler.

American Coach has had full-wall slides for years. Have one in our 2012 American Coach and after some adjustments during delivery, everything has worked perfectly.

FYI ALL: Monaco/HR is still alive and well. Yes it part of the Allied Recreational Group group now.

Monaco has not been out of business. They just have had different owners since 2008. Doug
