Roadtreks hold their value quite well, so I'd be genuinely surprised if one can get past 20% from MSRP on one. If they hit a bottom with price, maybe ask for them to toss in something as part of the deal as a discount such as a hitch mounted cargo rack.

I think it has already been established that an Era can be had at a 30% discount, but the op is looking for a Roadtrek.

Furthermore saying a "dealer" knows that B'S are hot sellers and can get the price is a ludicrous statement. Remember the dealers have an UNLIMITED supply of product in fact dozens of units leave plants all across North America daily.

What is more RARE than class B's are people willing to buy them, and dealers know that.

They also know RVers will travel from Florida to California to Canada to shop and pick up their vehicle.

305 is where you START you can ALWAYS go down from 30% but you can never go UP from 20%

It was not meant to be a comparison. It was meant to show that different manufacturers have different markups. I would agree that 15 to 20% would be good on the Canadian Units with their superior quality and price.

I think Winabeggo prices their Class B high, similar to their other RV's, It would seem the Canadian manufactures have less of a mark up, so comparing GW, PW, Rt, to the Era, is not a good comparison, nor is the quality.

I received slightly over 25% off my 2013 Winne Era. This was at the end of the model year. The dealer I purchased from also sold Roadtrek and Airstream models. The discounts on those brands were less than the Era, around the 15% range.

I never really tried to negotiate those models as they were more than I was willing to pay.

30% is not likely but why not start there? You can always raise your price.

He may get a better price from a dealer further away, but he should realize that there is a good chance that he will have to go back to that dealer for warranty service, because his local dealer will refuse to do the work, or make him wait months. There have been members here who have found that out the hard way, and have paid more in gas, and travel time than they saved.
So sometimes the best deal isn't the best deal.

He's looking at Roadtreck. He has 2 or 3 friends that have them and he liked the one he saw at a recent RV show.

I cannot help with price reduction estimates. As noted, it depends on the dealer. It also depends on what end of the year the new RV is ie a 2013 in November should be cheaper. Also, always try to buy a vehicle--car or rv, at the very end of the month! December and January are good months. I bought my new BMW on Jan29th and the dealer was anxious to get a sale to increase monthly balance sheet. Same with my used PW. I got mine for 53K$ which was 17$ below the going rate. Offer less. You can always offer more if they wont budge but be foxy and dont look anxious. In that sense, Midnightsadie has a point...Happy wrangling...
