NEED INFO ON 2006 ITASCA SUNCRUISER

I am considering buying a 2006 Suncruiser(Itasca). Want to know other owners experiences with this particular brand and model and most esp if it is 2006. I know that Winnebago and Itasca had some problems with windshield leakage but not sure which years or ? all years. How about other problems that seem to be happening with this model. Pricing is 67,999 but I am sure it can go down some from there but do not want to buy a pig in a poke. It is a gas unit, looks clean but who knows but does look as if it were well maintained and dealership does not clean things up until unit is sold. Anyone out there with this kind of unit and have advice?
  • IS JRooster saying he has a bad leak in windshield area of his rig? That is a huge amount of water coming out of that dehumidifier. I know there were some big issues with windshields on Winne and Itasca units with rotting frames that hold the windshield but not sure if it is all of them or some years and not others etc. Winnebago is a great company but that does not mean there is no problem with leaking windshields.
  • Concerning the dehumidifier issue, from J's post, it sounds like the dehumidifier is inside the coach near the front. But, it will be dehumidifying the interior of the coach, not just the windshield area.

And, my question is, is the moisture that is causing the windshield frame rust issue coming from INSIDE or is coming from OUTSIDE around the molding? I had always assumed this was water coming from the outside.
  • We have a 2005 Itasca Suncruiser 37B (purchased used in March of 13). So far not many issues. New tires, alignment, new coach batteries. PM for any questions.
  • That amount of humidity sounds very excessive!!! What do you attribute the amount of humidity to? Is there a leak in windshield area in your coach? I am not going to be storing where there is electric for a dehumidifier. I do use Damprid bucket in my fifthwheel now and all is well with moisture, we never have any fogging of windows etc. We are thinking of planting the fifthwheel on a seasonal site and getting the Class A for traveling when we do rallies and hope to go South or West for part of the winter. Just checking it out now!

You can google Winnebago recalls to find out what recalls happened in 2006. I would post the recalls for you but RV.Net is back to not letting e-mail addresses print on these posts again? Who knows how long this will last? Last time it was about 6 months? It's a real disservice preventing valuable info to go out to help other RVers! Anyway, I own a 2004 Winnebago Adventurer 35-U, The 35-U was Winnebagos best selling floor plans for many years in both the Winnebago and Itasca models. IMHO, the Itasca line of Winnebago is a little more classier than the non Itasca line. In 2004 the Adventurer was Winnebagos top of the line gas coach. And I believe the Suncruiser is Itasca top of the line gas coach. That changed later with there so called gas pusher? I've had very little problems (minor) since my coach was new, 9 years ago. I guess what I'm trying to tell you is there the oldest RV Manufacture and there is a reason for that they make a good product and the company is financially sound. If you can get the price down a little sounds like you'll be in a good coach IMHO! I would recommend buying a dehumidifier if you buy this coach and stick it between the windshields when the coach is not in use. I get about 1 to 3 inches of water out of my dehumidifier every 3 days! That water would be going down onto the windshield holder bracket if I didn't have the humidifier. Good Luck in what you decide to buy.
