Need new captain chairs

We are in desperate need for new captain chairs, the old ones are flaking and peeling - they look terrible. I have already decided it is too expensive to have them reupholstered - so looking for new.

We have flexsteel, on a power pedestal, and are ok with identical replacement of the chairs (pedestal is fine). So, can we order these chairs? Or do we need to go through a dealer of some sort? We would prefer not to use camping world. We can install the chairs ourselves - so just need to find a flexsteel distributor to ship the chairs to us. Help????

thanks,
Kathy
  • I'm also surprised that re-upholstery isn't cheaper. We just had both the driver and passenger captain chairs done. They look and feel great!

Had them done with a leather and vinyl combination material. Looks and feels like leather but not as expensive as an all natural leather.
Cost was $300 per seat. No way could we find powered replacement seats for that price.

If you check further into re-upholstery try auto upholstery shops not residential furniture places.

    Good Luck

Junction City Oregon. No sales tax in Oregon.
    They also install.
We bought a recliner from them.
  • Your pedestals are probably generic. I got rid of my Flexsteel seats because the foam just flattened in a few years. Poor quality materials, etc. I ordered replacements from DiscountVan & RV in California. They are less expensive than Flexsteel and they will custom make the seats with any type of foam you want. Their quality and service is excellent. Four bolts and you can install them on your existing seat bases.
  • Surprised that reupholstering is not cheaper than buying new. If the price is close though, you can get exactly what you want. Never notices the "bones" in the seat just the padding etc. New seats with the features you now have are very pricy. Are new seats able to use your existing pedestals and power system? I assume they can. I had a problem with the seats having integrated seat belts with the shoulder belts coming out of a slot in the seat back. New rig has belts mounted to the sidewall. Pros and cons.
  • We found it was cheaper to reupholster them but we did the work ourselves.
Brad and Hall in Elkhart IN sells a lot of Flexsteel seats.

    See HERE

We stopped at their showroom/shop and they have a lot of stock.

They will remove and replace the seats in their shop.
  • Try here.
