A heads up.
Last summer we replaced the orig. LTX M/S with M/S2. (The orig. were aged out and cracking).
It transformed our really nice handling 24' B+ into a squirming mess. Had the rig weighed, adjusted tire inflations, nothing was helping.
Dealer, America's Tire, was very good about exchanging the tires for Mich XPS. (We had to pay the diff in price)
Bottom line- if you get the MS2's (or any tire) give it a good run before putting it in storage.

F1bNorm stated nothing helped with the squirming. Did you get an alignment and how many miles on your shocks? Could it be radial wandering from the grooves cut into the pavement? I would call Michelin and ask them about it. - fighterpilotaExplorerNeed some help. My tires seem to be those that need replacing. One anomaly. They read Michelin LTX M/S LT 225/75R16 115/112R but next they read LTX not LRE. The dot sequence that follows is recallable, B3JH AKEX and production is 1310 which also falls in the recall. From a previous post assume the LRE is load range E and since they are LTX tires and everything else matches assume they fall under the recall. They are load range E.

For me, I would definitely go with the newer LTX MS2, they get rave reviews at Tirerack.com. Big improvement over the original LTX. - dan-nickieExplorerI have had two M/S replaced with M/S2 so far.
I don't have any issues with them.
They are rated to last more miles also.
Yes, the older M/S were discontinued in June 2012.
Given a choice, I would take the M/S2. - chinrvExplorerI just stopped at Discount Tire to check out the situation. They said that the M/S2 is the direct replacement, but there still might be some of the M/S tires still in the pipeline. If there is still a choice: would the older model M/S tires be a better choice if there are handling problems with the M/S2 tires? Have the older M/S tires been discontinued from being manufactured? It would certainly be useful if anyone else has had experience with the M/S2 tires, positive or negative, and would post their thoughts. Discount Tire said there would be no cost whatsoever in getting the tires exchanged.

Norm - SFVdaveExplorerThanks for the recall topic. Took my MH into to America's tire and got my free replacements today. Only had 7,000 miles on the tires and down 1/32". Had to get the M/S2 as they could not locate any of the original M/S.

Some replies here mentioned only the manufacturing date. Did the DOT Sequence also match? They have more than one line, or plant, producing tires so both sets of numbers must match the recall. Not just the date.
MNtundraRet,
In my case the DOT sequence is not the same as the those involved in the recall. I did neglect to mention that in my previous post. - ratfink09ExplorerI called Michelin yesterday to enquire about the recall. They set up an "account" with my name, address, phone #, vehicle type, make and year. They said tires in question will be replaced with balance and mounting included. Since my RV sits in a snow bank stored for the winter, I asked if there was a time frame for the recall. Since it is a safety recall, there is no time frame. Waiting until spring is no problem. Forgot to ask if they are replacing tires with the same tire or can you get the M/S2. Will be checking it out and talking to a couple of Michelin dealers this week. I would call Michelin and open an account just to be safe before you attempt to get these tires replaced.
- super_camperExplorerI replaced my tires almost 3 years ago and all are part of the recall, dates codes of 0810 and 0910. Some are happy to get new tires but I just find it another chore I have to do now.
I looked up info on the recall and I see Michelin recommends they be replaced right away. My MH is in storage so how long do I have before I must get the tires changed?
