The question is... How is the 2014 Jayco set up? Which batteries does it operate on and is the ignition switch in the circuit.

Our Awning runs off the house batteries and will not operate if the ignition swich is in the on position.

I work on Jayco. They use the Coach batteries. Never tried with Key on or off as there is NO reason. BUT, Every time I operate a Jayco motorized product the Key is OFF. There is ONE model of Tiffin, that uses the COACH batteries to operate the awning, but for some reason Tiffin decided to require the KEY ON to operate the awning. Makes no sense, but that is what Tiffin decided on this one specific model a few years ago. Doug
  • Doug rainier is right, but mine wouldn't work with key in ignition in on position.

Absolutely WRONG. 99% are on the Coach battery and very few have the Ignition interlock wire run. Doug

  • Do NOT attempt anything more. You risk getting the awning extended then it might stick/malfunction extended. Then you will be in a pickle. Jayco's have a 2 year warranty. Get it to your dealer. Doug
  • Disconnect the power leed at the control center. After a couple of minutes re-connect and it should reset the controls.
Also check all the connections for corrosion and apply a small amount of die-electric grease.
This just may save a trip to the dealer.

    Yup, return to dealer.

I can not tell you what you are missing but I can tell you what *I* am missing...

the make of the awning, The two most common are A&E (Dometic family) or Carefree, I can offer no information without knowing which company made the beast. But I can say. Return to dealer for warranty repair.
  • 8 months? I figure you're still under warranty. Don't fool with it, take it back to the dealer.
And....USE IT! 8 months doing nothing can create its' own problems.
