The only problem with a lot of motorhomes used is that the people that owned them before smoked. And if you do not smoke you can smell that stinky smell all over. The whole coach will be contaminated with cigar smell.

Others just have terrible odors. That is why I buy new and like the smell of new RV's and Automobiles.

john, I did take a look at tt and was somewhat interested. I liked the Larado models with the bunks. ?

Do you just want a MH or would you also consider a TT. You could go with a 1 ton van for a tow veh. that will carry every one and go with a TT that has 2 sets of bunk beds.

Jack, new or used is your decision the most important thing IMHO is finding a floor plan that fits all of your needs. As you mentioned a floor plan that will sleep 6 comfortably. Next is budget! Find a price that you can comfortable afford in your budget for a RV and stick to it! Good Luck

she just bought my 1st ever . i read a lot . did my homework . took the advice and went used . 2011 , 36 ft. winnie vista . 9,900, 00 miles on it . its brand spanking new . i cant believe we got it . it was half the cost of new . now if it would PLEASE stop snowing so i can get out of here .

If it has the beds to accommodate six THEN it would be just fine. Most of these high end coaches are for two only. Entry level coaches are more suited for family use.

I have never bought used, but I wish I had bought used on my first coach because after six months I was trading it in for a diesel pusher which I am very happy with. But I suppose I lost some money trading in so soon.

buy from whomever has the best deal for the money for the unit that suits u best. buy around 2 years old and look for hardly used low milers.

If you are able to buy new, buy 1-3 years old. Buying from a dealer is OK. Private seller dealing with that amount of money just always seems weird to me.

I would go private seller unless the dealership was offering a short warranty to justify their markup. If you are already in the market for New RV pricing, about 3-5 years old would be a great range to buy in as long as you can find the floorplan and features you are looking for.

With a family of 6, you will be sleeping on the dinette and couch and dealing with that inconvenience no matter what, having bunks makes it a bit more comfortable for everyone since they will not have to share a bed. When we go out, the kids are responsible for setup and teardown of the "beds".
