New to RV's, couple quick questions

About rotating seats, I don't know.

Generator (gas) is going to use 1/2 gallon per hour per air conditioner. How many air conditioners you need to power depends on where you are and how big you are. LPG and diesel generators will use the same amount of fuel, by weight, but to get to gallons you need to consider fuel density. More LPG than gas, less diesel.

Memberships or no memberships, $10-15 per night works out pretty well in the big empty middle of the country if you are willing to stay in public campgrounds rather than RV parks, and can live with the stay limits for those campgrounds, ranging from 48 hours to two weeks, typically. Most of my stays are $8-10 a night.

If you want to go to major metro areas, destination resorts, or be on the beach somewhere, you are going to pay a lot more than 10-15 dollars and you will find very few places you would be welcome to squat. Actual boondocking implies you would be in the boondocks, and there are no boondocks in those areas.

I'll only give you my opinion on campground memberships.
You say you will be fulltimeing only half the year...I don't know if you mean half of one year only or being a part-timer, half a year every year.
If its only one year forget a membership except for Passport America. Its cheap, only $40 or $50 bucks a year with no commitment and you just can't help but come out way ahead of it in just a week or so.
Other campground memberships require a huge investment up front. So forget them also.
If you are going to part time, several years, then seek out a campground membership broker. You can buy a high dollar membership for pennies on the dollar. Never, NEVER buy directly from the campground. Way over priced. Only use a broker.

Make sure you have the exhaust system inspected. We had two older coaches that had holes in the pipes and were sending fumes into the coach. Repair was not too expensive, but not knowing about it could have been deadly.

coach-net road service... just in case. with a used (or new) :h ya just never know. it is very expensive to get an rv towed, so it is well worth it to me.

In buying a used RV class A start at the top, as if it needs a new roof the run about $4,500 for a 36 foot RV. If the roof has leaked or will leak, the interior will be rusted and full of mold. Then if you are happy with the interior condition and layout then make sure everything works like oven, stovetop, heater, water heater, fans, alarms, TV's stereos etc. Then you are left with the tires, brakes, engine AC, radiator, etc. Best to have a mechanic check the elements you are not able to do yourself. You need to understand that the vehicle has to be roadworthy for safety and convenience. You can spend now on an inspection by an expert or pay later for repairs that could be more than the unit is worth. As far as running the generator, it is usually best to use it as needed not continuously, as the interior lights and pumps for water are 12 volt and run off your house batteries, that are usually 2 deep cell 6 volts tied together for 12 volts. Those batteries recharge when generator is on and when you are driving, but need to be checked for fluid level as charging evaporates interior acid fluids. Then you have propane that heats hot water, interior heater, and stove burners. Propane also runs the refrigerator when electric is off, as it is 120 Volt and only uses 12 volt to start the propane, when 120Volt is off. That refrigerator has to be close to level to allow the system to work, that's where leveler legs if present on RV are used. If it does not have a working leveling system blocks have to be used and are a real pain to level and can be dangerous due to slippery soils. So don't look, inspect and use someone that knows RV's to determine the value. Most sellers will listen to an experts valuation and adjust their asking price to the market value indicated by the analysis.

A major point of concern with all RVs is leaks.
Check for any signs of leaking. A small leak can do a lot of damage if not corrected quickly.

Also, check the tires. RV tires usually age out before they wear out.

Generally speaking, a Class A gas unit will get about 7 MPG.

My driver and passenger seat do rotate 180. Nice feature but we looked at a lot of MHs that would not rotate much more than 90. If you have good coach batteries no neeed to run the generator all night. We just run ours in the morning a couple of hours.

None of my driver's seats rotated 180 degrees, about 90 at most. passenger seat did go 180 and became a lounge chair with footrest.
