But that is what we do here. :B - Bird_FreakExplorer III watched the video twice and it shows nothing. traffic is moving slow but I saw no real gaps where he could move over. The video is also after the fact and there is no way you can say what the conditions were at the instant of the accident.
- rgatijnet1Explorer IIIHere is another article which gives the following information:
TDOT says warning signs as far as two miles back prior to the collision site warned drivers of the lane closure ahead.
IF there were warning signs TWO miles prior to the accident site, there are no excuses.
Nashville Accident - wa8yxmExplorer IIIDid not see any video on that link only a copy writer's statement and I know from experience how accurate those are (Not often).
This I can tell you.. The preception of the RV driver and the camera are different, It is also possible that the angle of the camera makes things look different than they truly are (Hollywood SP/FX folks are great at doing that).
The Accident investigator or investigators who are reviewing the video, and all the other evidence, will NOT be fooled by perspective differences, they will determine exactly what happened. and their conclusions will be what happened.
As the saying goes, When it comes to accident investigation, I'm not even qualified to shine their shoes. Thus, you may notice a strong "NO COMMENT" as to what actually happened in the crash is present in this post. - sch911ExplorerIMHO: The video has been edited, and the section where the trooper is struck removed. I'm sure the local prosecutor has that footage and will use it. What you see is the before and after shots....
- Go_DogsExplorerThis was a horrible. This video says they will do an accident recreation to better illustrate the details. I would like to see that.
- et2ExplorerWhile the accident was horrible, the video isn't conclusive IMHO. There is a car trailing the MH in the very beginning in another lane. Who's to say in wasn't blocking him and they moved over at the last minute.
Also there is a blind section of the video ( pillar in car taking video) which that car never reappears, either next to the MH or way ahead past . There very well could have been a car next to him the whole time not seen by the camera and was out of the picture by the time the camera refocused on the MH.
Any good lawyer will pick it apart. The media is always great at being the judge and jury. I'm sure the guy is torn up over it. He will pay for this in numerous ways. If it were me I would hope a jury has better judgement then the media has. It could have been anyone of us.
The police made a statement that he wasn't driving "in a like manner" they better have proof or they might be slandering this guy. - BumpyroadExplorerlots of speculation after the fact.
bumpy - fla-gypsyExplorerI suspect the RV drivers life is going to get more complicated.
