I think you will get better responses when you have a brand and model in mind. I'd go to a dealer or RV show and look at several to see what you like, then report your findings and thoughts.
Like the others have suggested, look at the floor plans offered by all of them and find a floor plan that you like. You will probably find that that same floor plan will be offered by more than one manufacturer but with some minor differences. Then you can come back to us and say "I'm looking at brand X model Y, and brand F model G, etc", and then we can help you see some of the positives or negatives with those floor plans and the manufacturers.
Unfortunately as also mentioned, they all seem to have flaws, and some seem to have more lately than they did previously. That is probably due to RV's becoming popular again as the economy and gas prices are favorable again, but as production ramped up the last few years, some standards seem to have fallen, and dealers are hurting to keep up with repairs. You might like the used ones if you can get a good deal just for the fact that the bugs may have already been worked out. I don't think many people will tell you to stay away from a particular brand even though we may have our favorite.
