This is a warning: not about Newman RVs for which I have great respect and admiration, but for adds on Craig's List for used Newmar RVs. I have been looking for a used RV and found several adds on craig's list for older (1999-2004) Newmar RVs, both Mountain Aires and Dutch Stars. The adds looked appealing. I pursued 2, both turned out to be scams. Had I not caught this in time it could well have cost me plenty. photos and The adds and the scam artists running them are very good, with photos and answers for most questions. The give away is usually the unit can not be seen in person and payment is through e-Bay to assure you of security for you money. This scam is being run so frequently that there is actually a blog dedicated to it. In addition to RVs it can also involve toads or trucks and SUVs.
If you are looking for an RV on Craig's list and you find one of interest, first ask in you can see it in person. If you are told it is being held on a military base where it can not be seen, Be Ware!
X10 I can't believe my brother in law actually bit on one of those (didn't follow through). The one he almost fell for was on RVtrader, so it's not just craigslist. RVtrader pulled it later that week.
They are very tricky, they steal others pics of the coach, even pics of the serial number.
