Newmar generator
I looked at a 2000 Newmar Dutch Star yesterday that was absolutely clean as a whistle, it was owned since new by a seniors couple which I'm not all that far from, anyway they started the diesel genera...

Reason I'm asking is that when I bought my 2003 DSDP 4005 the noise inside from the generator was very loud and like you I thought this was a deal breaker. However when checking outside I found that the hood latch was loose and hood vibrating was causing the noise. Just putting my hand on the hood stopped most of the noise. A couple of simple adjustments on the latch stopped the noise.
