I have had both types, a gasser and a DP. The gasser was a 2011 Georgetown 378XL. I imagine it would be comparable to the Coachman. The Ford 362 HP V10 performed admirably and will take you anywhere you want to go. We towed a Chevy Equinox with it and didn't even know it was back there. It did have the opposing slides with one under the patio awning, which we didn't like. And, I didn't like all that noise from the engine right under my feet. Especially when it downshifted. So, we decided to get a diesel pusher. We looked long and hard to find one with floor plan we wanted. Which included a king sized bed, didn't like the short queen in the Georgetown, and no slide under the awning. We found a 2006 Gulf Stream Tour Master which has three slides. Two in the bedroom and one curbside that is 43" deep almost giving the appearance of opposing slides in the living room, with no slide under the awning. Perfect for us. We've been in it now full-timing for four years and just love it. Having had the Georgetown which as I said is comparable to the Coachman and I have been in several, I think I would pick the Newmar, which I have been in also, price difference or not. They are just better made. By the way, the Georgetown and the Coachman are both made by Forrest River now. By the way, the F53 motorhome chassis doesn't come with a 260" wheel base, rather 242.3" and 252.3" both rated at 26,000 GVWR max., along with the 228.3" at 22,000 GVWR.
