I have a 2014 Coachmen Freelander 28QB. On mine, the foot half of the bed platform is hinged and lifts up to provide access to the water pump, the fresh water tank, and all of the drains.
Because I never hook up to water and use the tank and pump exclusively, draining it after every trip, I relocated my fresh water tank drain valve to the outside of the coach. It is positioned below the water inlets and shore power cord.
I don't know how similar your coach is to mine, but I have made several other modifications that you may be interested in.
