No shift

Hopefully some one might have a clue where I should start. Bus trans will not up shift. Old girl has a 3208 with Allison mt 647& stone Bennett air shifter. Has never failed not to work but now will not shift out of first. Goes right into first&reverse but will not up shift . Thanks joe.
  • I have an Alllison MD 3060 so I don't know if this answer is applicable. Last year I got a do not shift light after a sensor on the tranny became disconnected. It would go in first and reverse but when it tried to up shift it went to a do not shift fault. Maybe you have a similar sensor.

Sorry, but I don't know anything about your Allison 647. However, I Googled it and came up with a similar shifting problem discussed on iRV2.com.

    Good luck.

sorry to say, if you dont know the answer to a persons post, why do you post and say you dont know? just asking

Because he offered a resource to help him where all you did was attack someone trying to help. Get a life!

    I fully agree.

Now as to the OP, I also have no experience with that transmission but it it has been not showing any signs of problems and now won't shift, I would think it more likely to be a air problem than a transmission problem and would start there. Good luck and let had know what you find.

Wait a minute, you're the guy who uses a air nail gun to install the front bra on a motorhome, and your questioning the guy who offered a decent link???
